This stylish case features a well-spaced QWERTY keyboard that allows you to type faster and with fewer errors than on your Kindle Fire HD's touchscreen. The keyboard connects to your Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch via a Bluetooth connection and offers shortcut keys for instant access to media controls.

Low-profile protection and a comfortable alternative to touchscreen typing.

Removeable keyboard pairs with your Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch via Bluetooth connection.

Well-Spaced Keys Simplify Kindle Fire HD 8.9-Inch Typing

The Belkin YourType Keyboard Case simplifies emailing, word-processing, instant messaging, and other typing-heavy Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch activities with TruType keys and the familiar QWERTY layout. Each evenly-spaced TruType key has been designed with a scissor-spring mechanism, which ensures tactile feedback with every keystroke. The keyboard also has Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch-specific shortcut keys that allow you to easily copy and paste text, perform searches, adjust volume, lock the Kindle screen, and more.

Adjustable Angles Offer Typing and Viewing Modes

The Keyboard Case features a tri-fold design that allows for a variety of viewing angles on your Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch. The case can hold your Kindle upright for a clear view, or can tilt it at multiple angles for a familiar, laptop-like orientation. A magnetic tab closure keeps the case out of your way when you're typing. And because the keyboard is removable, you can tuck it away when you just want to view videos or pictures.

Low-Profile Protection for Kindle Fire HD 8.9-Inch

Lightweight and form-fitting, the Keyboard Case helps keep your Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch portable--simply secure the case with the magnetic tab closure and slip it into a bag or purse. The case has a stiff, durable construction and a smooth inner lining that helps to protect your Kindle from scratches, scuffs, and other types of wear. It even features a camera lens cutout that lets you snap photos while your Kindle is in the case.

Bluetooth Connection for Cable-Free Operation

Thanks to its Bluetooth functionality, the keyboard eliminates the need for additional cables and wires. To connect the keyboard to your Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch, simply switch the keyboard on and it will connect to your Kindle via Bluetooth. In addition, the keyboard's rechargeable battery is able to hold a charge for up to 2,000 hours of standby. The battery can easily be recharged using the included USB cable.
The Belkin YourType Keyboard Case for Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch is backed by a one-year limited warranty.

The keyboard structural quality is very good. Good feel when typing. There is an LED light indicating the keyboard is turned on. The charge cord is 5' which is pretty standard. The leather is thin and light weight which is desirable for compactness. I was really worried that the whole setup would be pretty thick and heavy. I don't want a thick heavy book to carry around or I'd just get a laptop. The letters on the keyboard keys are light gray on black. White on black would be preferable if you type by sight. If you are a tactile typist then probably not a problem. There is no place to hold a capacitive stylist which is a negative.

Belkin vs CrazyOnDigital Ionic Bluetooth Keyboard Tablet Stand
The keyboard can be removed and the viewing angle of the display adjusted to varying degrees. Adjusting the viewing angle is not possible with the Ionic which we also considered. Another differential is that with the Belkin my wife can use this as a laptop, with the Ionic, you need a flat table surface to support the display.

One important note that I've not found anywhere, even on the Belkin home page (because they don't even list this product) is that the Kindle wakes up when the folio is opened. It also happens to turn on when closed to so the intelligence is not that great but that could be a Kindle issue, not necessarily a Belkin product issue.
